Decided that Myers and King the pair of boars waiting for their new home needed a hair cut as they where getting very knotted and wet when sitting in their pigloo.
But I always feel so guilty cutting the hair of the longhaired piggies :0 and I can never do a good job so they just look silly from the back end but lovely from the front.

Anyone else feel the guilt or do you just go down the route of well it's in their best interests.

I know exactly what you mean as we have three beautiful Coronet piggies who need good hair cuts regularly.
It always seems such a crime to chop their locks but know it is better for their comfort and hygiene (do tend to leave them until absolutely necessary :))
They are much happier after though I think, despite a few hours of evil looks and sulking - they like the run of the conservatory and treats after bathing/trimming so my guilt is easier to deal with :x

I wonder if you can convince your local hairdresser to come over one evening to help you learn how to make a smooth edged trim? If you have a friendly regular dresser... or maybe even practice on your partner/parents as they sleep :P

My three coronets and three perus get the "butcher" treatment regularly, too. While my coronets just put up with it (apart from complaining about cutting out any mats between the legs), it is always a proper karate session with my perus, which has me and the surrounding kitchen floor completely covered in hair... mallethead

Don't remind me - my perus are due a chop this weekend! rolleyes

Wigmore is sporting a very short hair cut at the moment. One of his lady pigs likes to chew off his lovely locks at the front and i have cut off the rest to match. Don't feel guilty but a little bit sad.

I think we need to see photos Tracy, to decide whether you're guilty or not .......................... :(|). Who knows? You could be another Vidal Sassoon in the making!

Oh yes, you're not the only one!

I do too, mind you revolvers Only a short hair and I still do a rubbish job around her back end. As she sits on her urine all the time. So I try and keep it tidy and clean as I can to minimise Irritations around her genital from the urine.

I'd be useless with long haired piggies. I'd say they're lucky to have you!

I trimmed a little from Leeland when Vincent died several months ago (I bury each pig with a mini red envelope of their cage mate's hair and take a little for when Leeland passes). Every time I get her out I pout that she still has a single bang on her flank! Grow out, grooow!
