Exacly, it's disgusting what shops get away with selling :/ :/
It's literally consumerism making people think it's okay to buy them because they're being sold as 'suitable' for certain animals, when in reality its just a way of the corporation making more money for themselves at the expense of our animals welfare, its the same reason why such small cages and hutches are being sold as 'suitable' for multiple Guina pigs when they are little more then what most of us would even consider housing a hamster in.
I don't think the company's realise they could make a lot of money if they just sold suitable stuff for our animals anyway, we'd all buy stuff that our pets could actually use but instead they lump all small animals together in what toys and such they actually offer.
And it's not even just guinea pigs who get this, most syrian hamsters can't actually fit in a lot of the products sold as 'Hamster toys' you constantly have to size up to rat or even guinea pigs 'toys'

I just feel very strong about this and your right it is terrible what they try to sell us, and don't even get me started on who can sell animals to the public >
