Hi Everyone!

I'm curious about the behaviour of my two 3-year-old female piggies - their birthdays are both in January and I've had them since 2018. One of them drinks a lot more water than the other, which is a surprise for me as I heard that guinea pigs don't drink all that much unless it's summertime or the weather's hot. She has been doing this almost since I got them both (so nearly her whole life) and is quite definitely the bigger and greedier of the two! When I say she drinks a lot, I mean that she goes to the water-bottle for a drink an average of once every 15-20 minutes, the maximum being once every 8 minutes (even when it isn't hot) and always goes for a drink almost every hour, whereas her sister only takes a sip around 3 or 4 times in a day. Does anyone have any idea why she is acting this way? I am a responsible pet owner and neither of them have ever had any illness or health issues: they are in peak condition and always appear happy and healthy! :D

Please let me know your theories!

Many thanks 🌈🐹

Hi

:agr:

Please take the time to read the drinking guide. It tells you clearly when you should see a vet and what could be the matter.
