Jessie seems to be sleeping quite alot and if shes not sleeping shes just lounching around in her house. Is it normal for piggies to sleep alot. Also another question i had Jessie in the carrier before and she had a wee but it was a white clour like a milky white, is that normal colour of piggies wee :-\ Sorry if i'm sounding a bit dense this is my first piggie and i've only had her 2 weeks so i don't know the ins and outs of piggie behaviour yet :embarassed:

Milky wee is perfectly normal sweetie so dont worry

So is having a pig that is less than energetic

My piggy Merlin is a big lazy boy. He wakes up for a poo and a scratch and then goes right back to sleep (unless its meal time)

Well you are in the right place :)

This is a very friendly forum so dont hesitate to ask any of us for help ok?

You can learn an awful lot about guinea pigs by reading the various sections on this forum. These get updated all the time so keep visiting

Thanks, i guess it's always good to ask to matter how stupid it might sound really :)

Mine do too, I know better than to clean them out during these hours ;D

Lol i always thought guinea pigs where more lively animals but seems there a bunch of lazy  Jessie only comes out when it's time for food or to sqeek most loundly to tell me to hurry up cutting those veggies ;D

I agree - guinea pigs tend to be a lazy lot if they can get away with it! Eating and lounging... lounging and eating all day long! ;D

;D ;D i check on Duke everynight, it can be anywhere from 1-4am and guess what, yep he most often can be out munching away :) :smitten: :smitten:

If your piggy is really sleeping all the time maybe she could be sick? I'd just check and make sure her eyes are clear and that she looks okay just to double check.

Is Jessie alone? I mean, do you have other piggies? I heard a lonely piggy gets depressed and less active... Until I introduced my second piggy, the first one was just sitting in her igloo all day for a month looking so sad...

I checked her, her eyes are clear and everything looks ok. Jessie is alone we only had her 2 weeks but i'm not allowed another one just yet. Jessie came from a pet shop and since we heard stories of pregnant piggies my mam wants to make sure she aint before we get another so i have to wait 2 more weeks :( I have been giving her loads of stuff to keep her entertained though, i think i'll go buy her something new tommorow :)

I want to come back as a guineapig! Actually that's pretty much my day now anyway ;D

jessie sounds wonderful and perfectly normal, some times i go in my pigs sheds andthey lift their heads as if to say oh its you then go back to sleep again, i think they are eating sleeping machines I have watched one of mine quite close and he sleeps wakes up eats then sleeps and even sleeps while asleep and I think most are like that, obvioulsy company is needed which might wake her up a little as its more interesting she might be bored, what a life though ;)

I have noticed recently she livens up more when i take her veg bowl out for her veg, she goes crazy sqeaking real load. Oh yes she knows what time her veg is and shes not shy to remind me if i'm late ;D I'm aloud a new piggie at end of easter holidays if she aint looking any igger and i get paid next friday so will keep money for a new baby piggie friend :D
