Hi,

My almost 6 year old lady pig had recently started being quite fussy with her fresh food. She's still getting very excited when she knows it's coming but will take a bite from something then drop it and doesn't seem happy with anything I give her. If I hold it in front of her mouth for long enough she sometimes will begrudgingly eat it, but she never used to be like this. She'd eat anything. Her weight has gone down a bit but nothing too drastic and she's still munching through her hay quite happily. In fact they seem to be getting through more hay than ever. Any ideas on why she's being weird with the fresh stuff would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Aryan

My piggies have been like that for the last few months, suddenly deciding after years that they no longer like certain veggies......peppers being one of them.
I think it's just them being fussy and like humans we can go off food too.
I would suggest trying out other new vegetables to mix it up a bit, keep it interesting and just keep an eye on her weight, just in case there is another reason why she's being fussy.

I agree, could be an issue with her teeth.
My Toast has had issues with her teeth a couple times and her weight drops, she starts drinking more water and she stops being able to eat certain foods.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will keep an eye on her. Hopefully it's just a fussy phase and her gnashers are ok :-)
