Hi!
Random question but I don't think I've ever seen this in any Guinea pigs before!
My youngest (perhaps 4/5 months old) sits like a dog, and I haven't a clue why! I've put a picture here to show how she sits, but in case it isn't clear she sits on her bum with her front legs straight up tall and her back legs down. Is this normal?!

What size cage is your piggie in it looks cramped

Do you have a friend for your piggy?

I can honestly say my boys do not sit like this.

The only time I have ever seen them get up on their hinds legs is to reach the hay box if they like a piece at the top or if they are being inquisitive.

As said above could this be due to cramping/not enough roof to sprawl out?

Tomie does this sometimes. She's a bit of a strange one. Here's a pic to compare!

I just thought I'd answer everyone's questions above in one post rather than replying individually.
Yes, I have 2 female Guinea pigs. The reason we got this female (Weeny) is because we lost our male not long ago and needed company for our other female (Piggly).
The photo I provided was a zoomed in capture of a bigger photo, and just a corner of the overall cage, so I can see why it would look cramped but I assure you their cage is above recommended size for 2 females and they have ample room to spread out and run around doing zoomies. I also let them out of the cage regularly to roam the dining room.
I've had Guinea pigs my whole life, and have an animal behaviour and Welfare degree, but have just never seen a piggy sit like this before and was curious to see if anyone had a reason for it.

My piggies do this all the time. They even stand on their hind legs like meerkats
