In "APRIL" of this year, the rescue from which we adopted our Neutered boar Ouzo, and wife pig Morgan, informed us that a large group of Males and females had just come into the rescue and as we were always intending to increase our little herd we decided to visit the rescue and discuss the possibility of adopting 1 or 2 of the sows. When we saw her we immediately reserved Tia. ( not her rescue name but she was always going to be called Tia ). So our wait began firstly all the piggies had a severe case of mites and of course the 10 week pregnancy watch too. Tia's case of mites was cleared up relatively quickly, so the pregnancy watch, thankfully no babies. We thought Tia will be coming home with us soon, but alas when Tia went for her final check-up at the vet, it was noticed that she had a microscopic skin infection, which took a further 3 months to completely cure/heal. Tia is now ready to come home with us, which she will do in the next couple of weeks.

We decided to share this as it shows what lengths good rescues go to, to ensure the health and well-being of any piggie that comes into their rescue. It is truly humbling when you see the care and love that good rescues bestow on piggies. xoxo
Pigture of Tia shortly after arriving at the rescue.
