I have noticed that my pig George Baily has been lying down a lot. He has his face on the ground and he is yawning a lot, even when he has just gotten out of his hutch.
he is eating and drinking regularly. But i noticed less poop than usual.
Is this a sign that something is wrong with him or is it the heat?

If he is hot then he will be sleepy. Ensure he is kept cool by keeping him indoors away from the direct sunlight. You can purchase cool pads which are nice for piggies to lie on or against too.

Your profile says he is a lone boar. Lone boars sometimes get so bored they just want to sleep, but if it is hot that is probably not the case. When I was looking at your profile something distracted me... you want to get him a girlfriend and be a breeder. You will learn more as you get more addicted to spoiling piggies. Can someone explain about shelters and why we don't support breeding? At least, most of us don't support breeding. But back to your piggie, you should probably get him out of the heat. And get him a boar friend.

Please weigh him weekly; just seeing a piggy eat can be deceptive.

If he is a lone boar, he's probably just bored. Settled adults becone a lot quieter.

If you are living in Britain, you can always consider "boar dating" George at a reputable rescue under expert supervision, so he comes home with a friend of his choice, which very much minimises the chances of fall outs and fights - and you also do not have to sit through a nerve racking intro. Nearly all boars are bondable and rebondable at any stage of their life, provided it is done properly and carefully.

Here is Suzygpr's boar dating thread, which you may find an interesting myth buster: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=59233

Thank you all so much! I was getting worried for a while that something might be wrong with him.
I will follow your advice and try to keep him happy!
Thank you all again so much!
