Archie is actually doing my head in at the moment with his bar chewing! mallethead I don't know what he wants from me! I give him food make sure he has hay and water, let him have floor time, get him for cuddles. He lives with my 2 girls so he doesn't get lonely...what more can I do to make him happy? I can't spread vaseline round the whole cage :{ Even when I have him out for floor time he'll go back in and chew on the bars rolleyes.

Any ideas on how to keep him happy are gratefully appreciated :)

if its any consalation nelson is doing the same all the time, its driving me nuts to. mayb there is something in the air, to try and drive us mad?

Haha, yeah he's getting very annoying right now lol. They're in a 4x4 cage, so it should be big enough. I just need to get something that will entertain him. I don't know whether teeth could be a problem, but I think he's just got into a habit of doing it. Hopefully he'll get bored of it soon.

i think it is a habit, silly piggies know how to get to us. i've blocked off part of it with cardboard.

remember to keep checking his teeth. one of mine went through a bar biting phase and he managed to chip one of his teeth silly . there could be a problem with his teeth maybe worth a check with a vet

my moss does it all the time he is in a big cage next to 2 of his friend has along run every day

gets every thing a pig could ask for so i think he just likes to have a chomp on the bars

It does sound just like his habit, like we have, make sure you don't get him out when he chews the bars though! He'll learn that when he chews, he gets rewarded -_-

My Rodney has decided he quite likes to chew on his china food bowl ! The noise is unbearable not to mention I don't want him swallowing china! He's stopped now thank god, it only lasted a night, I don't think you can stop them they'll chew what they like. Maybe give him plenty of cardboard to chew up?!

This has happened to me I think! When mums in the kitchen, pig will frantically bite the bars, and mum gives her carrots to stop her biting. Its a never ending circle....

A couple of my boys did this now they are all at it. I think they are fed up with not being out on the grass! They get plenty of food and floortime mostly threy do it when i am doing the veg rounds and they are impatient!
