I live in the countryside and I could go on a twenty minute walk and collect a wider variety of plantmatter than I would typically feed my pigs in the form of veggies. What I'm wondering is how appropriate it is to feed these instead of vegetables or as the larger part of their fresh food intake?

I'm a gardener so identification isn't an issue, there's not really any higher risk of contamination than you'd have in a garden (and I can always rinse things to be safe), the only issue I can see is not necessarily knowing nutritional values but this could be compensated for by providing greater variety and rotation of the plants being fed.

I am the biggest fan of forage, in fact the lasy year they've been fed nearly exclusively that with the odd green veg (or sweet one for a treat) thrown in and personally think its the healthiest they have ever looked.

Bramble leaves they adore, dandelion obviously, all true/wild geraniums are safe and they absolutely love it. Cow parsley, some people say horse tails are toxic, some say not, i suspect they are a case of being a treat only. Dead Nettles, Mallow is popular. Sow tistle, dried nettles. Plantain. Fruit tree leaves if you walk past any of those. Thats all i can think of off the top of my head.
