My pigs are indoor pigs, but when the weather warms up I do sometimes put them in a pen in the backyard, where I know we are not using pesticides or anything else harmful. However, this spring I have noticed a LOT of wild rabbits in our yard- far more than usual. We had a very mild winter so I am wondering if this may have increased their numbers. Anyways, I'm wondering if there's any risk to having the pigs potentially come into contact with rabbit droppings/fur or any other potential 'leavings' from the rabbits when they go outside. Just wondering about it being a possible vector for mites, diseases spread by droppings, etc.
