Anybody have experience with this hay?

Did your piggies enjoy it and was it good quality? Money's quite tight this month and need some hay as I'm running low. I want to make sure they have a good quality one though.

If you don't like/have no experience with this hay, do you know of Any other hays that are good that can be bought online?

Mine love it I also brought simply nibbles dandelion garden from Asda they couldn't get enough that's quite cheap to

I'd agree with Bekki, it isn't a bad hay. I buy it alot because I don't often get to go to the Range, my piggies still eat this hay but Natures Own is better quality and value for money :)

I'm in Northern Ireland so we don't have the range stores here :( I'm going to get some today just to tide me over until I can get their usual hay. It's amazing quality but available in £34 bales which I just can't afford right now x

It's OK to use temporarily. I've used it a few times when money is tight. It's not great quality and it's in really short strands so they can't burrow in it but they will eat it and that's the sole purpose of it.

I always buy a large Bale of hay from our local Animal feed centre, - it works out much cheaper in the long run, I pay £8 for a whole Bale,
they do a really nice meadow sweet one (smells yummy) and I use this for bedding and feeding

I have used it many times when running low as my office is above a Wilko's so its handy. Never had a problem with it personally but have now gone down the route of ordering from hay for pets and so far very pleased

i have tried meadow hay from wilkinsons and its great can be found really cheap any where else. dont know if there is a b and m bargains near you but they do that hay quite cheap and my guinea pig loves it. however if your looking for good quality i would recommend timothy hay. lots of pet places use it as it is dust free and easier for them to digest this isnt to expensive and can be found in most shops too. hope this helped :)

Thank you! I'll check out b and m as well! :)

Have you got home bargains in Ireland? They sell snowflake meadow hay in store and online ad mine love it. Its only three pounds for a three kilo bale but I'm not sure what that would be in euros.

Yes we do! I use snowflake wood shavings for my hamsters and gerbils bedding and use their straw for my rabbits bedding. Is the snowflake meadow hay good? I never even thought about it! :)

My guinea pigs love it:)

They usually scoff the lot when I go to feed them and it smells sweet and fresh too.

Btw, if you use a lot of the sawdust they also sell 4 large packs of the snowflake wood shavings for six pounds. Again, not sure what that is in euros but might be worth a look? They deliver to home or store too.

My boys have this alongside Timothy and they do really enjoy it. I use this to line their litter boxes and stuff loo rolls with. they tend to eat all this before the timothy. no problems as yet.... :)

Haha I'm in the north of Ireland, we use pounds! That's the ones I get, four large packs for £6. I have quite a few hamsters now (all rescues) so I buy about 12 packs a month.

Well whaddya know? I didn't know you were on the pound in n.Ireland! You learn something new everyday!

My husband is an assistant manager at HB but his store doesn't sell the bedding. So I order it online, get it delivered to store and hubby brings it home. Door to door service haha!

We are just as much part of the United Kingdom as you are.

hi guys i have one guinea pig. i am debating wether to get a friend for him? the women in the pet shop said they might fight and you would have to corner of the cage so if your out they wont fight. is this worth doing or should i just keep my guinea pig on his own? i let him out 2-3 times a day for a good exercise. any replies would be great. thanks :)

Can I ask why this has been posting in my wilko hay thread and not your own thread? :td:

I have only been a guinea pig owner for two weeks but I know guinea pigs shouldn't be on their own. I have four and they came in pairs but I put them all together in a brand new cage. There was a lot of chasing around and squealing which frightened me at first but the general advice is that unless there's blood or teeth chattering they should just be left to get on with it. Mine still chase each other round a little but things have settled down a bit now.

No need to post in CAPS. Let's please remember that it can be difficult when you first join a forum to know where and how to post a thread.

@Taylor You have done nothing to wrong I have created another thread for you with your post in here https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/getting-a-friend-for-guinea-pig.113375/ Anyone wishing to help Taylor please visit this thread
