Will Baby Keep Short Fur?

This was the only one in the litter who isnt smooth coated. Is it possible to guess what kind of coat he/she will have as an adult? Ive been trying to get more info out of the previous owner and apparently its highly likely the father was a rex and mum is smooth with a crest.
