Will guinea pigs accidently eat the fluff from vet beds?

Hello everyone, I used to use guinea dad bedding, and it was great, but after a few years it's now shrunk a lot and extremely stiff. I thought of buying more fleece bedding, but it is extremely expensive, so I decided to try vet bed, which I have seen people use (although that was many years ago). But once I got my hands on it I found out that the fluff on it comes of easily (I haven't washed it yet and instructions say to brush it so that would help a bit), and I'm afraid my guineapigs will accidently eat it if it comes off or accidently bite some off when eating hay. Does anyone know if vet bed is safe for guineapigs?

Welcome to the forum

Yes it is perfectly safe to use.
The green backed version is best (rather than the rubber backed version) and put something absorbent underneath it.

Yes, as piggies explore with their mouths they may decide to pull the fibres - some do, some don’t!

I use vet bed and my piggies don’t eat it
After it is first washed you don’t get any fluff
It’s easy to remove poops and hay from it too
I use the green backed one as @Piggies&buns says

Ok, thanks for the reply I might wash it and see if no more fluff comes out. Do your guineapigs accidently eat the fluff still attached to the blanked when they nibble hay on the ground?

No …there isn’t any fluff from it
I use a stiff bristle brush to remove hay from fleece/vet bed if I need to but a good shake usually dislodges poops and hay
