Will his hair grow back?

I have a Sheltie (I think) boar, hes a rescue & the rescue I got him from have given him a haircut as they said he was in a bit of a state when they got him. I've had him 6 months now & his hair doesn't seem to have grown any, I groom him regularly. He's my only long haired guinea pig. I was just wondering if his hair will eventually grow long again, just out of curiosity really, as I think his uneven crazy hair-do gives him extra character!

It should grow back as i always thought there hair grew continually as people who show them have to regularily groom and trim there flowing locks. Give it time it should grow back eventually x
