Just looking for comments or critisism on the house made for 2 sows, now I am used to making outdoor hutches and runs Sokel saw one but never an indoor home as just always used to use the nero's but fancied making something different.

I know it looks toy bare but this will change. Its size its 4ft 6 by 2ft 3 :)

It's a lovely size - well done!

My only thought would be that I've got those grids and *some* piggies will jump straight out. C&C grids are that bit higher and I haven't had one jump over those yet, but the playpen ones are quite low.

The other thing is they are quite bendy because they are all hinged, and my pigs all tend to shove the panels across the room (they quickly learn that they can move them!), so you might need a more solid base or a way of keeping them in position (wood or correx?)

Just some ideas! Looks great

thanks sophie x>>

Three sides are held in place with cardboard base to stop them being pushed about and all the grids have had the hinging pinched together so they cant come apart (i thought this when I saw it) and yeah its only 10" in height if they jump out well will have to re-think (and then OH will be given a job) but if they do they wont come to harm as its on the floor so no high distance to fall, but fingers crossed LOL
:)

its a lovely size! lucky piggies! i have a 6by3 for 4, and they are never cramped, so they're gonna be in heaven!

aw wow, that looks great. I like the idea where you put your melon in the plastic tray, suppose it keeps the veg n stuff from getting covered in shavings hmm will get one of those. I am also a big sucker for the wooden houses I think they are great.

Its true isn't it though, most pets live better then we do lol well the lucky ones :))

Looks fab Becky. If you are worried about Olympic Guineas jumping out then you can get fabric mesh (used to line ponds) in Wilko's I use that on C&C in the garden for runs and it works a treat. You can hold it down with clothes pegs. :)

Thanks Helen and Sokel, I am so excited now just need to wait and work out a collection time. Mean time they are going to be bought loads of hideaways and toys.
Jack will also be going for his op (poor boy) but be good for him in the longrun :)

SunshineandTwinkle - what a brilliant idea, thanks for that, might get some just incase then its here ready :))

That is so good! I have these playpen grids but Timmy the monkey jumped straight over them every time :)) depends on the piggy, yours may not be so naughty! Louises idea is great about the mesh!
