at the end of last summer i treated the grass. it was the miracle grow grass seeds. i was told they were safe for animals. anyways, the grass is nice and long now so is it safe for them or would i be best to mow it first and let it re-grow again?

As far as I'm aware it would be safe, however, spring grass can be very rich so should be given in moderation to avoid your piggies getting an upset stomach.

thanks. :)

i only treated the parts that were looking a bit dead! :))

so i've been gradually introducing them to grass lately, just bringing in some and i'm going to start increasing the amount gradually. it's a bit cold for them to be going outside yet and i need to buy a new run for them first aswell. :))

just making sure this is ok as ches and maisie will be going outside soon when the weather is nice..

the grass seeds i used last summer (august i think) were 10% fertiliser. obviously it has rained alot since then and i will be mowing the grass before they go out and letting it re-grow a bit so hopefully it will be ok.

i've been feeding them it anyway, building up the amount, the bunnies aswell, and there have been no problems. i was just worried because the piggies pull it out right at the root don't they.

I would have thought it would be ok as they just nibble the leaves, they don't tend to pull it out by the root and I would have thought the fertiliser would be gone by now...especially with all this rain we've had the last few days :)).

Yep it should be fine after this long :)

And I'm sure the spring grass will be fine as they get used to it :) Mine are out all day on any nice days and are so happy :)

great, thank you. they haven't been out yet so will be ecstatic when they do :)
