Will they find their water?

My husband today made a lovely perspex cover for the front of the hutch that slides over to keep the wind and cold out. He tried to drill it for the water bottle, but it split, so he bought a new piece and started again.

This time he has drilled a hole in the side of the hutch and put the spout of the water bottle through that, with the water bottle outside.

I showed the girls tonight, but they weren't best pleased at being manhandled and having a spout pushed into their mouths (gently I hasten to add) so will they remember where it is?

Matilda might, as she has a brain, but Minnie ?/
 
They'll find it. You could make sure they get plenty of watery veg until you're sure they know where it is.

Cameo managed to teach Jeff to drink from a bottle rather than a bowl - clever Cameo, stupid Jeffy! rolleyes
 
Thats a good idea, I will give them lots of cucumber and romaine lettuce. You are SURE they will find it though?
 
they will find it, my old guinea pig basil was a little thick he used to stand where the bottle used to be with his mouth open like it was just going to appear but eventually even he cottoned on he used to stand there licking when i took it to be refilled going through the motions even though the bottle was not there, so if he can manage it I'm sure yours have a little more sense :))
 
i never see my piggies drinking :red but its there for them should they need it :) - I saw a baby trying it out the other day so theres hope LOL

Ive put a smooth stone under too so they can stand on it and reach it, and their food bowl is next to the bottle
