Well I found out today both my new guinea pigs have lice. I've sprayed them down with some lice stuff for small animals and shampooed a lot of the dead lice out. But as I've only had them for 3 days they are still pretty terrified little guys and I feel like I've traumatized them. They were shaking so bad! Are they still going to bond with me eventually or are they going to hate me forever? And is it possible to scare them to death? I feel like I was giving them a constant seizure....

awwwwwwwwwww sorry to hear :{ about the lice :)>>>
No they'll be ok...........give them time......... offer treats and quietly chat to them, each time you go near their house chat away so they get used to your voice :)

When i got my piggie Charm, it was at school and she had to travel home on the bus with me as the person i took her from was about to give her to her dog :O :'( and while we were on the bus someone with mental problems saw the little pig tucked in my jumper and in to my chest and grabbed her over the back and started trying to use her as tug of war. Thankfully the bus driver stopped the bus because i was screaming and refused to go until he gave me the guineapig back. I was so horrified that i put her in a cage and put a blanket over her and left her for hours, hoping that her experience wouldnt scare her or kill her. from treats, cuddles and love she has become my little baby and loves and trusts me, so dont get to worried, just work on the relationship and hopefully you and your piggies will make a bond soon =]

As horrible as that story was (poor little Charm!) it made me feel better. Thanks.

They will bond with you afterwards; it usually takes a few days to sink in that nothing is going to happen. You are making them feel better first. That has priority.
