So after 10 days of quaratine, I placed the two cages side by side. Both Spooky and the new sow are clucking at each other and sniffing through the bars. This continued through the night. This morning the bar chewing has increased on from both girls, they are chewing and sniffing and clucking at each other non-stop! They take time out to eat and rest and right now Spooky is sitting in her cage giving herself a big bath while the new girl is trying to break down her bars!
I left them for a few hours this morning and when I came back, Spooky was teeth chattering and hissing at her while all puffed up. I watched for a few minutes but they settled down and went to their seperate corners to eat.
Fast forward to a few hours later and I am sitting here with them while they munch away on their hay. They are still clucking to each other and the little one chews on the bars every now and then. I have not seen or heard any more teeth chattering or hissing from spooky.
Will this work? Will they ever bond?
I am afraid because the little one seems to be a lot bolder than Spooky and may be more dominant.

Have you put them together yet, or are they in separate cages next to each other?

Someone more knowledgable will be along in the morning to help you out.

The only way to know for sure is to set aside a few hours, set up a neutral area and see what happens.
In my (limited) expereince their behaviour between bars is not always indicative of how it will go once they are together without a barrier.

The best thing to do is read the bonding guides (I still re-read them every time I have to bond any piggies) and pick a time when you are not rushed and have plenty of time to wait it out with them.
