Truffle has just eaten a big ivy leaf, it must have been a dead one as it must have been on the lawn before I moved the run.

We've been out most of today and I felt sorry for them so I put them out hurriedly and didn't see the ivy leaf in there or I would have moved it.

Is one leaf going to hurt her?

Is there any sort of antidote I can give her?

Any help much appreciated, thanks xxxxxx :(

I would suggest just keep a good eye on her, note her behaviour and that, it might be worthwhile giving her grass it is neutral and might pass the ivy out of her quicker?

oh dear.

The vet has give me liquid charcoal, and the advice I have from the peter gurney pages says 100mg charcoal tablet. Anyone know how much of the liquid is equivalent?

hoping truffles will be alright, like said perhaps give her some grass and see if the ivy leaf will move out of her system quicker. if the vet gave you liquid charcoal would they not have said how much? wishing you luck O0 sending hugs and healing vibes to you and truffles :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: please keep us posted. Just to update this thread, Truffle is fine now thank heavens. :smitten: m

The vet had dosage for a cow which wasn't much use, but said to trawl the internet for correct dosage for a guinea. However all I could find was the dosage for a powdered charcoal tablet, and as she had given me liquid charcoal, it wasn't ideal but I did my best at converting and thank goodness she's ok now.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and helpful posts and links. I am very grateful to you all.x
