My new stinky William needs a bath, he really smells bad, I don't know whether it's because he wees and sits in it, or there's been a problem with his petshop friends weeing on him too, I have a lot of boys and none of them smell like he does.

He's been to the vets today and been given a clear bill of health, but we're to keep an eye on his bite wounds and go straight back if they become a problem.

His story is here.

I'm not entirely sure how old he is though, I would put him roughly 10-12 weeks by comparing him size and weightwise to Teddy, whose just about 12 weeks.

Can I bath him yet? I was thinking of using GG Manuka and Neem, because his 2 year old cagemate will have to be bathed at the same time, and he's a bit itchy, but I'm putting that down to all the shavings and straw that was in his coat before he got groomed yesterday.

Any advice re bathing small and extremely quick piggies will be gratefully received.:(|)

I think it's fine to bath them at this age is necessary- going off the gorgeous guineas website, putting a fairly big towel in the bath helps- and would it be easier to do them both together as i find my two are quite calm as i do them both together.

Maybe have their favorite snack to hand to help calm then when in the bath?

Oh dear :{ erm yes i do remember that smell :o

Maybe you could bathe him with a little hand towel wrapped partially around him to start off with? and do just a butt bath? he then might get used to the idea !
Talk to him constantly as you do every step, i still do that with the girls.......e.g. ok Onyx about to brush you, about to rinse you....that sort of stuff, i figure they at least then get to know your voice and realise it's not that bad rolleyes :)):x
I'm sure little William will smell handsome as ever soon x)
Good luck he sounds an absolute darling ickle boy drool

Oh that's an idea I'll try a bum bath first, he had a load of matted hair underneath his tummy, which the vet nurse and I managed to get off this morning, he wasn't very impressed with either of us. And all the time he was being clipped, Spike was going nuts in the carrier, I think the vets were happy to see us leave, Spike in full voice on a Monday morning wasn't what the vet was expecting today. What a start to the wheeeeeek for her.x)
