Our big willow tree fell down a couple of weeks ago. Would it be ok to give my piggies the twigs?

I'm sure that most varieties of willow are safe for piggies but I am aware that there is one type that is poisonous (white willow) so I guess it depends what type of willow you have. Unfortunately I'm not a keen gardener or arborist so I couldn't identify which one is which. Please also be careful as twigs can be sharp and cause injuries to piggies.

Thanks Vicky. I've no idea what sort of willow it is so I'll leave it.

you can but it does contain salicylic acid (what they use in aspirin i think) so a small fresh amount is fine, but i would avoid it if you have a piggy on metacam or other pain relief :) or so i've been told by someone who knows alot about this kind of stuff anyway :)

when i lived back at my parents, my rabbits shed and run was under a huge willow tree :luv: they loved when i shook the branch over the run and all the leaves and twigs fell in :))
