Last week I saw the willow sticks in pets at home and was buying a bundle to see if they liked chewing them. I then saw a value bag for £4.95 which had 2 lots of sticks in and 3 willow balls. I put one of the balls in each cage but only Ginger bothered chewing them - he liked them that much that he seems to have eaten half the ball - is this safe?/

I should think he would be finen as i believe (others may disagree) that the purpose of these is for them to chew and throw about. Someone more knowledgeable will probably be along soon though and could give you a definite answer.

Spike has regularly eats half a willow ball, lol he's been fine, I don't think their harmful. Apart from the sticks being a bit sharp after being chewed. My pigs love the taste of the bark and will sit there stripping the bark of the sticks :)

Mine aren't interested either. They generally don't like any toys I buy. All they play with are toilet rolls and brown paper bags rolleyes

Mine have only ever had willow balls a few times - they've just demolished them within 1 day. They looked like they had a lot of fun with them.

My six are just the same leave the sticks and devour the balls. We have got a huge one from Pets at Home thats taking some getting through but they are loving it.

Mine too love the balls, but not the sticks.
Nibbles demolishes them so quick I wonder if it's worth getting them.lol

Thanks everyone.:)

Well Ginger is the only one that has demolished them so far - my female piggies just ignore them. I got one of those other balls with a bell inside and they just ignore that too.rolleyes Ginger is a bit of a chewer though - he's bit all the plastic coating from the wire that hangs the bottle to his cage when we remove the bottle to refill it.:(|)
