Willy has been booked in for neutering.
I am very nervous however have come to this decision as I personally think male and female relationships are very healthy and stable. After the loss of Doris it seems the right thing to do with a single male and female.

He's due to be neutered on the 5th September. I could have had it done next week but I can't get it off work and Anne (my vet) is away for the following two weeks so I'd rather she was around during his recovery just in case.

I just hope that Tilly will accept him. She's just over a year old while Willy is 7months.

He's currently bedded on fleece which I think I will continue after neutering but I'll put his hay in a rack rather than a tray so he doesn't lye in it. I had Frazzle neutered before which went well I just hope things go as smoothly for Willy. Fingers crossed.

Hope Willys willy gets better quickly and all goes well.

Thanks guys, he is a little baby so I hope he copes ok!
This is him yesterday chilling in my bedroom completely unaware of what's to come

*SWOON* x)x)

Oh my...(gulp)...he's...ADORABLE! x)

Good luck for the op. Seems the right thing to do in that circumstance. I'm sure he'll be fine and will love the company of a new wife pig!

... *swoon* :laluot_29:

I'd marry him if I was a piggy. He's gorgeous drool x) bless him!

Good luck baby :)

Well the date is coming up fast.. eek. I'm so worried for my baby.

I know its the right decision but I've kind of mollycoddled him since I got him as he was ill.

So I need some nerve easing vibes for me and good healing vibes for him!

Sending him all the good luck vibes in the world....oh and he's such a beautiful stunning piggy!drooldrooldrool

Good luck with Willy's Willy!

Its a hard decision, I'm sure he will be just fine xx

Good luck Willy x

What an amazing life he's having, and this is just the start of it -c and when you think of how his life could have been without you................:{

Well done both of you, I hope all goes well x

Best of luck. Thats a year since I got my Cyrus neutered, very stressful for me at the time, but to see him now living with his two wives, it was worth it.....

Thank you. He is a very special piggy to me.

I have just dropped the little chap off, he was given a health check and all good. I let him take his friend 'Bear' with him. Vet may have thought I was crazy.

He is now hOme. Op went well all to plan and he had been pooping. Eating not so great but they thought it was because he was very scared at the vets. He ate a chunk of baby corn and some lettuce in the car on the way home but hasn't eaten since. He got a little excited at tea time, made quiet noises and poked his head out his house but then decided against it. He took two nibbles of some celery then moved to reveal this poo:

I presume this is ok? As for eating if he doesn't in the next half hour may offer some wet pellets/critical care on a plate.

I have seen similar looking poohs while mine have been on medication. It is great to hear he is doing well. :)

Apart from the length (which i feel should win some kind of record:(|) )that poop looks normal and perfectly formed to me x

There was no more munching so I syringed him some critical care which he seemed to like, but then he got tired and didn't want anymore. Popped him back, he took a couple bites of carrot then went to bed.

Agreed - apart from the length it's good poo. Not had a long one like that from my pigs that I am aware of, but I've not had many neutered (only about 7/8 over 10 years). Though that's going to change soon as I'm booking in a couple of boys for the snip soon - will look out for super poos though!

Maybe there should be some sort of forum record? :))

Willy is continuing to do well. Yesterday afternoon he was back to his normal self. Just monitoring his eating. He wasn't drinking much but have attached a bottle lower down he is finding better. Hopefully this will improve the size of his poos. His appetite is good however and he's been popcorning :) Wound is looking ok too.
