I am aware the title sounds dodgy! But in all honesty it's really not..
It is just a thread about my cute little addition.

Six guinea pigs really was my limit and it was a definite no-no to anymore. The main reason being space, the piggies are in my bedroom and in three separate cages on either side of my room. Of course I dreamed and looked at pictures on rescue websites but I always knew no more.

Well, things changed unexpectedly! You can read how I came about ending up with my newest piggy here: http://theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=87438

It's not set in stone that he will stay permanently, however it is looking more and more likely as my OH and mum are falling for him, and seeing him improve more every day is a good feeling.

So moving on from the boring stuff .. time for pictures! (You'll also see another reason why I'm unsure on if he should stay. .!)

I've never owned a proper long haired guinea pig before. It's going well so far, I've trimmed around his 'area' and back legs to prevent it tangling and getting manky and have been brushing him every day. I actually find it quite therapeutic grooming him and it helps that he's the friendliest well behaved piggy around.

I think this could largely be due to the fact I've been handling him every day and giving him tablets/extra attention since he arrived, and through this he's gained the use of his back legs. I saw and noticed his pain when nobody else did and I will always remember the look in his eyes when he just laid there and couldn't move :(

I hope that in my home he can find peace and happiness! My future plans for him (e.g. friend) are undecided but suggestions welcome. I currently have one pair of boars, neutered boar and sow, and two sows living in pairs so there's limited opportunities ?

And also, any ideas on what he will turn out like when he's older? Will the hair keep growing and growing?

What a cutie!
I too have just got my first long haired little pig and he's a boy :))
I'm planning on hopefully neutering him and putting him with my two sows when he is old enough.

P.S. I must admit the title made me chuckle :red;)
