i have 4 long haired guiena pigs, i check my piggys daily and there out daily ect what i wanna know is fur gets in there willy hole cause there long haird, i trim that area but still seems to happen any tips please
I have all short haired piggies and flash is always having his willy picking up fur and bits, its just cos they tend to let it all hang out that it seems to end up sucking up hair like selotape rolleyes
I just check his willy daily and pull any hairs or bits out of his bits.
Our boars were short haired but still managed to get hay and stuff 'up there' rolleyes:p
Regular checks like you been doing (WELL DONE!)
I'm afraid boys can be rather slack on their grooming........ girls can be too! Keep the area trimmed and clean, regular butt washes are great!
If you know an area they tend to drag their butts......... clean this up........ my girls tend to like to drag their butts down their ramp rolleyesmallethead so i'm forever wiping it clean and keeping any hay etc off it!
Am hoping someone else might come up with another suggestion!
I found William's very rarely gets anything trapped in it, and if he does it's a bit of fur! (He quite likes cleaning that area of himself!)
I'm checking once a week for anything and when he has his monthly bath, whilst he's immersed up to his tummy in water, I flip him over and proceed to pop it out and the water just washes over it.
Gotta love having boys! rolleyes
so is it safe to pull it out lol, i did and it did not seem to bother them, and i was it aswell lol
Its got to come out somehow, I am careful not to catch the skin with my fingernails and I have found some hairs are a little stubborn, but flash is not bothered by my intervention, he just hates me having to look down there in the first placeI think he is a bit prudish
