When I go to pick Wilma up she is squealing, normally I get the odd squeal and shes always been like this but she seems worse and is getting upset even if I touch her. I'm beginning to think this is health related.

Would mites get her this upset and if not what would?

Mites could yes. How long ago was her last ivermectin?

No advice to give but just hope your little princess is ok..

Maybe do it this month for them all. 3 months is about right as a preventative, I have to do ours next month.

I was just reading gorgeous guineas identification page and I'm thinking it could possibly fungus infection. I have Gorgeous Guineas stuff here, so I think I will treat them for fungus first.

I have misplaced the sheet, do you have the instructions for the neem and shampoo?!

I forgot to say on my above post she has loads of Dandruff.

That does sound like fungal. That's what Dolly has had and it spread fast.

Are you doing the melt first? If so I would cut her hair a bit as it's greasy even afterwards, I cut Flopsy's hair back quite alot when I was treating her. I think you leave the melt on for 10 mins and then wash off with the neem shampoo - which you use twice.

Cut Wilma's hair... OH my Lisa I would cry if I had to do that :o! Yes I was intending on using the melt first. I think I will just have to put up with a greasy pig, at the moment I'd be too scared to cut her hair as she is so jumpy.

Do you think I should treat them all, they all have a slight itch to them or just Wilma? Thats why I was thinking it could have been mites but no one is scratching obsessively just the odd itch which could be perfectly normal.

I would treat Wilma and keep a firm eye on Fred; it is quite often that a piggy that has been stressed (and therefore had its immune system lowered) can come down with something like that.

Treating for mites as well won't hurt, especially if Wilma has had them before.

Oh also I thought it was longer with the coconut melt, I remember a while ago someone posted the directions can anyone help me find it, I'm looking but having no luck.

I only melted flopsy when she had it but I shampooed all of them with the stuff. No one else lost hair though only Flopsy. But she had a hard time accepting Orson and I think she got it when she was stressed. Ditto Dolly she had alot to put up with and loads of changed when she got fungal.

I would just shampoo the others but not melt, it stinks but it did the trick for Flopsy.

Ok so I will just treat Wilma for fungal and check the rest for dandruff, now they have all been scratching but I wouldn't say obsessive, I plan on giving everyone a bath today anyway as they stink, I will just only use the melt on Wilma.

If I use the melt on Wilma when I can use the mite stuff, as she would need treated again with the fungal shampoo and I wouldn't want to wash the Xeno off, or stop it working.

I think it was me that asked. But can't remember properly.

Start a post in chat (that's where mine was if it helps)

I would wait 48 hours in either direction so that the different treatments do not interact, as they are not supposed to be used together.

I'll check chat, I think it was Sam that gave you directions. Oh btw I remembered AP used to say if you put your hand though the pigs hair, if black dots appear on the floor, it could be mites. I just tried that and there were black dots, so thinking I'm going to have to treat for both better to be safe than sorry.

If I am treating for fungal first how long should I leave it before I give mite treatment anyone know?
