Windhwistle Warren Rabbit and Guinea Pig Rescue near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire UK have kindly given permission to post their behind the scenes video on our forum. Enjoy the pre-dinner excitement at a rescue!

And I thought it was noisy here when I get the chopping board out.:)) Lovely to see such happy piggies.

Aw bless them all.
So many of them..... x x

They are well cared for, but as always - if a rescue can't rehome guinea pigs out, then there is no space to take in any more in need of being got out of a bad place.

It is always interesting to see different rescues. Windwhistle is not one that I have ever been to or have adopted from as they are a bit out of the way from me, so it is great to see how they are run.

They have been around for a number of years and have got an excellent reputation, though! :tu:

It's very sad there are so many in rescues looking for new homes, but it's still lovely to see such happy well cared for piggies singing for their supper.

Yes, I would like to dispel the sadly still persisting myth that rescue piggies are just little brown and uninteresting cavies which are damaged for life... :mal:\

The ones that really have chronic medical or serious behavioural issues or that are too old or frail stay on as permanent rescue residents (which can often be sponsored), but they have a good and well cared for life!

This is just what it's like at the shelter I volunteer at! As soon as you get out the chopping board every piggy is at its' hutch door waiting and wheeking! I love it :)
