Thinking of you both x
I've just got back from dropping Winifred, along with Rosemary, at cat and Rabbit clinic for Winifred's surgery. Hoping it's nice and straightforward; Kim thought it was seemed mobile and unattached, except for a bit going towards the groin, so I hope Simon can get it all out cleanly.
As I'm at a funeral tomorrow, they are going to be boarded locally once W is able to leave the vet, until I can collect them Thursday. Poor Squeaks looks a bit lonesome in the big cage all by himself!![]()
Was it Karen, the one you were boarding her with? Thanks, yes, I won't be able to help worrying somewhat, even though she's in the best of hands for the surgery and the boarding lady was recommended by Debbie. But as I'm out tomorrow I'd be worrying anyway ...
No, she is with Julia at Skittering Pigs. Debbie did recommend Karen also though. Jolly glad there was at least one other option for them as Debbie couldn't help. Was it Karen, the one you were boarding her with?
I hope Winifred is doing well. Both Julia and Karen are great. I’m having a lovely time with the grandchildren, so couldn’t have dedicated the time needed, to caring for a post op piggy. Entertaining a 7, 5 and 2 year old is keeping me on my toes! xNo, she is with Julia at Skittering Pigs. Debbie did recommend Karen also though. She’d have been given pain relief by injection immediately post op, but I’ve always been told to continue it for a few days. Ring the practice to check. I wonder if they thought you had some.Simon phoned with an update at the end of yesterday. Pleased to say the op went well. The lump was fairly large, but mostly well contained so straightforward to remove. Can't say what exactly it is, but it could still be either lipoma or benign. It's gone for histology, so in a couple of weeks we'll know for sure what it is.
Winifred wasn't given any pain relief, but the pet boarder said she had settled in well. I thought such an op would need pain relief after, but I guess I'm wrong.
Thanks all for your healing vibes x!

Yes she had the jab. I asked Kim about after when I took her in, she said they probably wouldn't, but I can ask for some if needed. Julia says she has some metacam available if Winifred is showing signs of pain. She’d have been given pain relief by injection immediately post op, but I’ve always been told to continue it for a few days. I thought a cut and stitches in the tummy would be painful, but I don't have any personal experience to go by - whereas Simon and Kim do of course. I'll monitor her for signs of pain when she's back with me, but hope she doesn't have any.Ah, that's okay! I guess a lot of our piggy ops have been tooth/abscess related, which are more likely to be painful for a few days.
I'm having a lovely time with the grandchildren, but yes, I'm going to be totally exhausted once they return home!
