Emzmum
Junior Guinea Pig
Today has been a trial run with the girls' winter quarters. I need to clean the hutch out and because it keeps pouring with rain I decided to put their run indoors. i use an old puppy run with part of an old fireguard fixed on top with cable ties as a lid.
So I put that in the dining room with a picnic blanket on the floor, a tray of hay, their bed and a paper bag to play with. Well they went totally crazy! I've never seen popcorning like it, even from Princess. So I decided to take it further and used another part of the fireguard to make a mezzanine level, using cable ties to fix it to the run. I lined it with cardboard and made a ramp frrom 2 layers of strong cardboard covered with fleece. I put the tray of hay up there. Cue more chasing about and popcorning!
I still neec to clean out the hutch and will be sorry to put them back out there but hubby says I must.
. Still after all the work I put in last weekend making that warmer and dry (insulated platform and layers of bubble wrap) I suppose I need to get my worth from it! Nice to know that when I neec to bring them in, they will like their home. Just need to get my brother to make me a wooden base with sides now.
