I have a hutch and separate run on the grass for my piggy's for the summer months, I only put them out when the weather is warm and only in the daytime as they are indoor piggy's. Obviously the cold weather is here now and I would like to store my hutch/run until the winter is over. How could I store it? I don't have space in the garage to fit them and was thinking of buying some of that blue tarpaulin stuff and covering them both with that. Would this work? I know the hutch is waterproof but don't think the run is and would most probably rot if I left in uncovered. I don't want to but a hutch hugger as I wouldn't really have much use out of it.
Any ideas and does anyone else store there hutch/run for the winter months?

If you haven't got space to store it under cover then a tarp will certainly help protect the wood. What you're trying to achieve to to prevent any of the wood sitting wet for any length of time. So cover it with a tarp, and weight down the corners to stop it blowing off, and put the whole thing up on breezeblocks or bricks or something, just to raise it off the wet ground.

Once spring comes, choose a nice warm day and uncover it and open it out to give it a good airing to let it dry out completely.
