I will try and make this a short "story". :))

My mum let me have a little lay in this morning, and fed all my piggies. She came up and said that Wobble wasn't asking for breakfast and was sitting in the corner. Wobble was fine the evening before (at all his dinner, and acted quite as Wobble does) so I thought the worst so jumped out of bed and went to check.

I booked Wobble in to see a vet at 2.10pm. I saw a vet I hadn't seen before but was pleasently surprised to hear how much he knew about piggies, and his efficiency of getting Wobble sorted. The vet looked at Wobbles teeth, and as i thought Wobble had burrs on his back teeth. The vet checked his appointments and said he had some time to take Wobble into surgery straight away. I also mentioned that I had found a lump on Wobbles back, and the vet said he would check that under GA too.

3pm - The vet rang to say the lump was an abcess, and the burrs hadn't rubbed Wobbles mouth. We booked a "pick up" appointment for 3.40pm.

3.30pm - As i was putting my shoes on, the phone rang and it was a nurse from the vets. They were concerned that Wobble wasn't quite ready to go home, so asked me to ring at 6pm to see how he was. It seemed like I was waiting days.

6.10pm (I was putting off ringing because I didn't want bad news) BUT th nurse was very pleased and said that Wobble was pulling in the syringe because he wanted the critical care food quicker. :)

Wobble has been home since 6.30pm. Its actually a miracle! Hes eaten 3 (thin) slices of cucumber, 2 thistle leaves, and is fighting with a toilet roll tube of hay.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

As the dental thingy is going to be reaccuring does anyone know about dentistry without GA? And how long it will be before he *** need teeth work doing again?

The amazing furryfriends (Excellent Adventure Sanctuary) is the person who will be able to advise you, as she works wonders with dental pigs, and has a vet who does dentals without g.a.

My Fred and Patrick both get spurs on there teeth - P has ongoing medical trouble.

Fred had a dental in April and need his 2nd on at the start of last month.
Patrick in August, his 2nd dental was the start of last month along with Fred.

It really does vary depending on the pigs, Patrick has his dentals conscious and Fred has a shot of Valium to chill him out but isn't knocked out.

Think I am going to have to do some research, I am worried that Wobble won't be so lucky next time in his recovery.

Maybe there should be a thread with recommended rodentologists, a it like the piggy-savvy page?

I have just contacted a friend who runs a local hamster, mouse and rat rescue. She uses a vet that specialises in small animal surgery, so will be contacting them on Monday to see if they can help.

Fingers crossed.

**Wobble has only just stopped eating and has settled for a nap**

How do i word this?

...Wobble used to love carrots. Now hes not eating them at all. He eats everything else though. Has anyone else had the same sorta thing happen?
