Junior Guinea Pig
Never kept piggies before, always wanted them and since I lost my bunny in May I've been determined to have a pair of sows. I had my name down with a breeder in my area and was so looking forward to getting baby piggies. The breeder told me her sow had a phantom pregnancy so I was getting despondent. Searched gumtree for people needing new homes for piggies and a lady with pair of girls offered them to me. Drove up to London, fell in love then realised the woman wasn't giving them anyway, she wanted £30 for them. Luckily hubby said, you've driven that far just get the cash out and bring them home. So 3 weeks ago Ginny 11 month old mother and Saffy 7 month old daughter, entered my life! My son named them and decided Ginny was his, as she's pretty easy going it was a wise choice. Saffy is easily spooked and very nervy and you need to handle her calmly and carefully, far easier to do myself than supervise a child doing. After 3 weeks of careful and continual handling I feel I'm really getting somewhere and Saffy and I are really bonding! After dinner I got both piggies out, my son had Ginny and Saffy and I snuggled and as usual she settled on my shoulder. My son gave me Ginny as he'd had enough and the minute she headed for my shoulder Saffy squealed loudly and defended her spot! It's her shouldert and I'm hers

She stretched out her front paws and turned her bottom slightly on her side into my lightly stroking fingers. I'm sure I heard her give a little purr! Eventually she moved onto my shoulder, stretched out a little and I felt little paws slide over my shoulder
We snuggled for an hour and she seemed so content. My pretty little nervy girl is definitely bonding with me, and it feels great! I am besotted x)
