Won't Be Around After Losing Piggy #4

Just to let you know that I have had to sadly rush my beautiful gentle Angharad to the out-of-hours vets today. It is the third time I had to let a piggy of mine go in an emergency in the space of just a few weeks and the fourth piggy I have lost since the start of this year. Angharad was not even three years old.

I am beyond gutted. There is only so much I can cope with, and I have reached my limit now.

I hope that you understand why I need a bit of time out from the forum right now.

Oh I'm very sorry @Wiebke you take as much time as you need because we all understand what loosing a piggy is like and you've had to go through loosing 4. Please don't be hard on yourself everyone on this forum knows you are an experienced piggy owner and I am overjoyed to see your gang on Facebook etc. Once again I'm so sorry. Huge hugs from Mo and I. X

So sorry for your losses. When I began looking after guinea pigs again 6 years ago I didn't realise how fragile their health can be. It is the most awful feeling to lose a guinea pig. It has never got any easier, but if I failed to be effected by a guinea pigs death then that is the day I will no longer want to care for them.
Your wealth of knowledge has helped me care for all my guinea pigs. And I will always refer to your advice when health issues arise.
I am knocking on a bit and realise how precious life is and how important it is to make the best of everyday.
I feel that way about my guinea pigs, some may have not have lived as long as I would have wished but I do know that they were loved and cared for whilst I had them. There are so many guinea pigs (and other animals) who have never had a caring home.
I hope you can take time to reflect on the positive influence you have had in caring for guinea pigs.

I am so sorry to hear this Wiebke, gentle hugs for you. It's this side of owning piggies that I can no longer cope with anymore, I've had my heart broken too many times too. I hope you find comfort with the other members of the Tribe xx

You have my whole families sympathies and condolences. Angharad could not have asked for a better person to have known than you. Her soul will always be bound to yours, all the animals we love never leave us, just as the people we love are always with us too.

But I just wanted to say what you do for piggies is amazing. Thank you on behalf of all those you've helped.

I'm so sorry for your losses, it's absolutely heartbreaking losing a loved one, I hope you feel better soon. Just remember what you always say to us in times like this, your advice is priceless and you are a huge part of the forum and we will miss you, we are all here to support you as you do us x
