:... Jack and Bob really hate cuddles Bob gets really really stressed out and i can feel his little heart pounding while i hold him. I have made a decision its simply not fair on them to stress them out so much just for a 20 min hold, of which they don't like, poor Bob goes really mad struggling and squeeking out madly.
I made a blanket section where they can hide and people do not go in there no matter what, so they have a place they feel completely safe. and i stroke Jacks head and back and he takes food of me but Bob really hates contact. So i am not going to upset him i will talk to him and always try to stroke him but i will not force myself on him to pick him up when it clearly upsets him so much. I know i probable will upset you all and get told of for not picking him up :... but long as he is clean fed and loved i can still be close and watch them and chat to them without stressing them out.

what your doing is totally fine :) As long as they have comepany of their own kind, they dont need cuddles from us! Its nice to have them (as long as the piggy enjoys them) but they arnt necessary.

Thank you i feel lot better not so guilty. They seem a lot happier not being pestered, just letting them do their own thing.

Your giving your piggy all the things they need, they have a friend of their own kind, all the nutrition they need and a clean cage :)

My piggies are like the opposite of yours. They love lap time, but they wont let me go near them when they are in their cage. I just let them be. Play it on their terms. :)

My smores dosent liked to be touched at all. In the begining I forcd him to at leaat have 2 mins or so.of cuddles or lap time. But eventially realised he was not outgrowing it and now the only time I pick him up is bath, nail trim, winky &bum check and to put him in the play pen..my others love cuddles n lap time

I have one that doesn't really like cuddles rolleyes

I would try to feed him his veggies etc in the morning & then wait until he is relaxed & sleepy before you try to pick him up, I found mine much easier to handle after feeding when they are less excitable! You do need to check him over now & then to make sure he has no lumps/bumps/sore bits anywhere but a short handling a few times a week is fine if that's all he is comfortable with. I find the more you handle them though the more comfortable they get, especially if you give them a nice slice of sweet/bell pepper or cucumber when they are sat on your lap, then they will associate handling with something nice! rolleyes

One of mine doesn't like cuddles, but like others have said, it depends on the guinea pig...

I'm convinced mine just doesn't like my lap! He's perfectly happy (maybe a bit too happy) if I prop a cushion on my lap and him on top with fleece wrapped around him, he'll roll over with his little feet in the air and fall asleep!

It's all very cute, until I need a drink or need to answer the door, and people wonder why I'm holding a cushion with a big fleece blanket piled on top! ")
