My guinea pig is about 2 years old and recently will not go up the ramp to the top level of the hutch where the bed is. Every time we go to see her she doesn't move and if she does she only ever goes to the bottom of the ramp but never up it. I put her on the upper level in the living area (not the sleeping area) and she immediately ran to the bed. I then checked a few hours later and she hadn't moved from the initial spot. I am a bit worried. Is this a sign of anything?

Hello welcome to the forum....

Have you had your pig for 2 years?

How long has she had this cage for?

Is the ramp safe for her to use...or does she think she may fall off? Juts reread your post and you say it is just recently she will not use the ramp.

Is the eating and drinking and being her usual self?

Aw, how long have you had her ? If recently, give her lots of time to settle and become aquainted to her new environment etc.
Not all piggies like ramps so make sure it is not too steep for her, they are inquisitive little devils so she will probably suss it out especially if there are little treats around :))
When my OH built out set up with ramps, one of the two younger boars wouldn't use the upper level (he painstakingly made tiny little bannisters to help them feel secure rolleyes) His brother was bombing around and left poor little Frankie standing and confused so I picked him up and put him up there. He found his way back down and has his little bed up there now as prefers being upstairs. Think it's cos he can see what we're doing and can watch TV really :(|);)

I have changed the cage around so that the food is up the top and their run around and beds are downstairs. I then placed them upstairs by the food. They do go up and down now and having the food on top, makes it easier to clean and easier on my back!
