I remember reading somewhere on here that some people find wood shavings to be really good for bedding. I am considering having them and wonder which brands people use. Links would be very welcome.

Thank you.

Pillow Wad and Nature's Own are good. I find them very convenient and great for indoors odour control 🏡

I used snowflake wood shavings too.
I bought mine from an equine / animal supply store but had to switch to fleece when we moved as the piggies live on the top floor and I couldn’t lug huge bags of wood shavings up 2 flights of stairs.
I would still prefer to use wood shavings

I use snowflake at the moment too, it's one of the better ones at a good price. The best shavings I've ever used were called Thoroughbred, absolutely zero dust at all and incredibly soft, but it was expensive 😅 I'd go back to it if I ever get down to just one cage and 4-5 piggies again.

Great. Thank you all so so much. At the moment they are very shallow litter trays with newspaper and hay cleaned often but it would be so good to be able to spot clean and let them keep deeper hay.

They also have a fleece area but they like the hay end best.

I use natural flake and bedmax. Very large bales (15-20kg) My local equine/livestock shop sells them for just under £10

I've been using hemp bedding in my litterbox and it works really well to draw down the wee and keep the top layer dry: Amazon.co.uk

I haven't tried wood shavings, do they need changing often?

When I had guinea pigs and used wood shavings, I spot cleaned taking out any wet wee daily and did a full cage clean once a week x

The snowflake soft chip bedding is wonderful. So easy to clean and much much better than newspaper to line their litter trays with. They have soft chip bedding with soft timothy hay on top. It works so so well.
