£35.25, for the claws to be clipped... Oh my, thats pricey!

Oh my! I thought Una McLean in Glasgow was expensive at just over £20 consulatation fee! Not very helpful for you but I feel better now :red

You could try shining a torch through the nail, helps you see the quick so you've got a good idea where it is when it comes to clipping time.

I clip the very end of the nail that way you avoid the quick, I do it every month, mine have black nails too... I place my piggies on there back during claw trimmings... I wouldn't expect it to be anymore than £10! Is there not a member near you on the forum that could maybe show you or help?!

Our vet doesn't charge a consultation fee if you are only requesting a nail clip etc, only a consultation fee is charged if you are having a general check up or if there is something wrong as in your animal is ill. I think that price if correct is taking the whizz for a nail clip only.

I think I would be phoning back and asking how much it is for just a nail trim... say you don't want anything else done just the nails clipping if she says £32.50 I'd be running elsewere :))... xx

Don't pay! I'm in Nailsworth and can do them if you like? Have several pigs here with dark nails and don't mind doing them :)

(And if you need a cheaper vet, try Bowbridge in Stroud)
