Hi, I'm currently treating my herd for ringworm (thankfully only one pig seems infected, my skinny who is about 6 months old, but all are being treated) and was looking for advice on disinfecting my cage, as it is made of wood. I have F10 disinfectant, will wiping down the walls of the cage be enough to kill spores? The base of the cage is covered in pond liner and the walls are plywood that has been treated with linseed oil to protect it. Also, is it possible to disinfect wooden hides rather than discard them?

Also, the treatment I am using is Malaseb shampoo, if anyone is curious!

Thanks so much!

I’m sorry to hear that

Spray f10 onto the wood of the cage and leave it to soak in. No need to actually wipe it down.
Really give it a thorough spray and ensure it gets properly into all the corners and joins.

You can soak wooden hides rather than discard.
Make up a bucket or large container with f10 solution and submerge wooden hides in the solution for several hours. I would not give the disinfected wooden hides back to them until after treatment is completed.
Use cardboard boxes as hides as they are easily discarded during treatment.
