My piggies ( for reasons only known to themselves) have started chewing their wooden ramp. Anyone know if this is dangerous & should I change it to plastic pipe for safety?

I'd say it should be fine as long as it's one specifically designed for animals (or babies). I can't put anything in mine's cage without it getting chewed - wooden house, cardboard tunnel, plastic tunnel, plastic step stool! I find bits of the bendy tunnel all over the place!

better than chewing your cupboard! My first piggie long ago made a great carving masterpiece on chairs and cupboard...:(
(I was chatting at the phone!:)))
wood is safe for them (except certain branches) and they eat also plastic houses... you would not solve the problem...
Let them do what is inspired by their natural instinct and after a while they will even lose interest in that ramp (and they will chew another thing). Some weeks ago my piggies spent a long time enjoying chewing a little (safe) branch my husband brought home from the countryside. Now they have lost interest... and have discovered the broom:roll: (but I don't allow them to destroy it!)

I haven't a clue what this wood is, all I know is it's a softish wood. I've just noticed they've chewed the correx as well. Little . Lol

Mine haven't chewed any correx so far but any other piece of plastic has been chewed as well as wood, the zip of there play pen (both of them, grrrr) my walls ! And the box file containing all our mortgage docs!

My lot have a regular supply of piggie safe branches, which we collect from the surrounding countryside.
They have various wooden chew toys and chew sticks, as well as a carrot cottage and various cardboard boxes.
They still happily chew correx and duct tape when the mood takes them

So in my experience if you take away the wooden ramp they will find something else to destroy!

yesterday my daughter's Anatomy book was safe by a hair's breadth

The documents I understand. They just wanted to know when you died how much was on the mortgage still. If it was too much, they were going to do a midnight flit. Lol
The zip on the playpen just tell they are grounded till it's fixed.
Wood & Plastic, well they've got to do something naughty.
I thought my were bad!

she is at her first year... already passed some exams; today is her birthday (20!) and she took her first blood sample from a patient :) (she is attending her second month of internship; they have terms of lessons and terms of practice at the hospital). And yesterday she screamt when Calipso started eating a page of her book!:))
This below is my daughter with Calliope:

Piggies will chew on anything they can get their teeth into! So far my 4" pipe that my son half inched off a skip on the building site has survived. Only cos it is really thick! The carrot cottage is still in one piece although they have fashioned a very wide and interesting looking front door. One of the wooden stick arches has been almost stripped bare of bark on one side and they obviously don't like the shape of the bottom sticks on either side as they have started to remodel that too. The loo roll stuffed with hay lasted a few hours and any hazel branches I collect when I go through the woods last about 5 minutes! They are little terrors when it comes to chewing. Oh and they also have a go a my buttons!
