It has been so hard this week to say goodbye to Woody a truly gorgeous, trusting, lovely piggie. :0

He had terrible dental problems and despite two operations and constant medication he just couldn't overcome it. We adopted him from a friend because he was being bullied by the rabbit he was with. We got him a friend, Buzzy, and they were very close, sitting together all the time.

He was so brave and trusting and such a little fighter and we really miss him. We think Buzzy misses him too as he has just been sitting in the place where Woody always sat so we're hoping to take him piggie dating soon.

The vet was so understanding, gentle and caring which really helped. He came recommended by a forum member and was lovely.

Goodbye little fellow we will never forget you. xx xoxo

I'm so sorry to hear this sweetheart, I hope that you are OK and that Buzzy gets by alright and will cope with this :(
RIP Woody, run free over the bridge gorgeous xx
 
I am so sorry for your loss. You must have been through so much with Woody being unwell. How heartbreaking for you. My thoughts are with you.
 
I am so sorry that Woody has lost his fight; you have done as much as possible.
He will always have a special place in your heart.

PS: Leave Buzzy with something that smells of Woody to snuggle up with; I have found that any single bereft piggy of mine virtually lived in it until I could organise a date at a rescue for one of the following weekends. Perhaps you can set up a boar dating trip with Bramley Cavies or Milhaven for the weekend after next? By then, Buzzy will have hopefully come out of deep mourning.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and advice. It's so sad and although he was only two and a half I know that he's had a really happy life and that's a comfort.

I meant to add a photo on my original post but did it wrong, so now my son has come to the rescue, here is the little gorgeous himself......

He was a wonderful little character, and as gentle as a brush. His little "building up the confidence" show before going up the ramp will always make me smile.

He'll be munching happily with Ginge, Nutmeg, Rosie, Susie, Daisy, Maisie, Molly & Polly. Bye Woody chops, we'll miss you x x x
