I do mine once a year with panacur, because they go out on the grass with who knows what other passing animals

which panacur do you use? I can find one for rabbits but not guineas? how much do you give?

I routinely worm mine and the guinea pig clinic I help at worms the pigs that come in too, using Panacur sheep wormer.

I use Revolution. Its a monthly treatment & i use the same stuff on my cat :)

Ive never really thought of worming ditto which is silly really as my dogs are wormed regularily. I de-flea/de-mite ditto once every 3 months. I will look into the wormer-Amanda where do i purchase panacur do i have to go through my vet?

Here it is recommended that any piggie allowed to free forage be de-wormed regularly. My boys live indoors but do go out to graze on grass and dandelions in good weather. I use an Aussie small animal wormer readily available here and also used by vets. The active ingredient is Piperazine, administered every 3 months with dosage listed by bodyweight.

Panacur comes in all manner of products.

Personally, I use the 10% liquid solution. Dose depends on bodyweight.

Best thing to do is call your vets with an accurate weight for each pig. There's no point in buying a 100ml bottle, for the small amount you'll actually need - get the vet to dispense it in a smaller quantity with a correct dose.

Just a warning - no animal in the world likes panacur. It tastes foul. Have something tasty to hand as a peace offering afterwards!

you can also use lapizole which has the same active ingredient as panacur and again is dosed depending on body weight.
