my piggies have never been wormed, do they really really need to be wormed, if so does the vet need to do it?

thanks

Guinea pigs should really be wormed reguarly, however, many people don't. You can get wormers that can be used on guineas from the vet (normally panacur), you would be able to give it to the guineas yourself. O0

Guinea pigs don't usually get worms, unless you feed them contaminated grass.

Wormer doesn't just get rid or prevent worms it also acts as an aid to balance the gut flora of a guinea pig. :)

When I took my piggies to Vedra at CCT for a checkup she asked me if I'd like them wormed and I didn't know anything abt worming so just said yes on the basis that she wouldn't offer anything harmful to piggies.

didnt Vedra say in her newsletter that they can also get it from hay?

It's a measure to prevent worms and also aid the balance of gut flora in a guinea pig. You don't have to worm your guinea(s). O0
