Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help. We got 2 baby guineas on Friday at 9 weeks old. They have a wicket hut type thing in their cage and they were both in there, one started shaking and repeatedly headbutting the side of the hut thing. I've picked her up and shes now sat on my chest purring. Help! :-(

It sounds lot she may have felt trapped if they were both in there. It is a good idea to make sure all huts etc have 2 exits when pigs are still working out who is boss.

Does she seem injured or shocked though?

Thank you for your reply Helen, I really appreciate it. She was fine as soon as I got her out. I think you're right. I'll update my information now :) x

If necessary, just clip big hankies or tea towels to the bars for little tents, so no piggy can be trapped during the dominance phase. Have at least one hidey per piggy, ideally spaced a bit apart so the dominant piggy can't hog it all. Do the same with the food bowls.
