i dont know what i can do for him, apart from trying to bond him and giving him plenty of attetion :(

he has completely changed since munchie died.

ive got him out now, he has lost his tameness, hes gotten jumpy and skittish, hes very quiet, an looks like he has lost weight, he looks so sad :'(

i need ideas for perking him up.

ive tried a teddy bear but he pays no attention, and spends all day in munchies pigloo :'(

sorry I don't know apart from lots of attention :'( one of my pigs greived when another died and I couldn't do anything except give her cuddles and make sure she was still eating. She eventually got better :'(

Hi Lez,

Oh no poor Bob. He is grieving bless his heart. I'm not sure bonding will work for him just yet perhaps he just needs time. Is he eating? I would maybe give him loads of his favourite veg and lots of attention like you have been doing.

What about bonding him with Heath when the time is right. Merlin may be high maintenance with being a Peru.

Hoep he will be ok.

bonding with merlin didnt work. next i was thinking of either trying to bond merlin and heath again, or bond heath and bob.

I'm fairly confident heath and bob would bond, as they have spent time together successfully in the past

i was hoping to bond merlin to one of then though as the piggy who doesnt bond would be going to meet the boar i am hopefulyl taking in, and bob and heath would be better suited to this than merlin :-\ its a very tricky situation as i wasnt expecting it at all

ill just have to see how bonding goes :(

he seems to be eating veggies ok. I'm wondering if he is losing weight cos of stress? does anyone know if thats possible?

awww poor Bob no advice just hope it all goes well for you, give Bob a big hug from me he is a gorgeous piggy

Have you weighed him? Stress or grief could cause loss of condition, so pop him on the scales and keep an eye on it just incase. Poor boy, hope he's ok. Sounds like he's had a bit of a shock as well as you.

Sending hugs

maybe if you put him in another cage and scrubbed his current cage out to get rid of munchie's scent, maybe this would help. i would weigh him ad keep an eye on it, lots of cuddles and TLC. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: perhaps he could be in your bedroom for a while so he has you to keep him company? sending lots of hugs and healing vibes for you all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: girls send bob :-* :-* :-*

i cleaned the cage the day munchie went into the vets. cos i thought id have it spotless for when he came home, although it didnt work out that way.

i cant really put him in another cage as i dont have a spare, and all my piggies already live in my room

ive not had chance to weigh him yet but he looks so different its quite worrying how different he looks. he has completely lost his big pig look

if concerned take to the vet, but maybe all he needs is time and lots of hugs and attention. which i am sure he will get from you :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: sending hugs to bob and come on big guy start acting/looking normal O0 like already said perhaps tempt him with his favourite foods. how long was he and munchie together? sending hugs and good vibes for you all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

him and munchie have always been together. bob was 3 and a half months older than munchie, and i got them last march. ven before i got them they lived together in a herd with other boars.

Poor Bob. I think it'll just take him some time to get used to Munchie not being around...stress causes us to lose weight and condition so I guess it's the same with piggies... Be strong Bob, hope you're feeling better soon....sending manly love from Garry and the boys...xx :smitten:

wondering how sweet bob is feeling today? hoping he is feeling a little better :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: the girls send many :-* :-* :-* and sending you both hugs and healing vibes :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: give bob a cuddle from us O0

Lez i'm hoping our chat has helped and that Bob is feeling a bit better this morning :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
I'm glad he enjoyed lap time with Heath :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
extra super duper loves to you all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

COME ON BOB :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

This reminds me so much of how Joe was when Mr Tiggy died. Joe had lived with his daddy ever since he had left mummy, and the night Mr Tiggy was dying Joe just kept making this haunting crying noise. Afterwards he became very withdrawn and thin. After letting him spend some time with Ralfie and Berby, while they were outside in the run, he changed immediately. When I took them all back inside and he was put back into his own cage he just stood at the bars watching the other two. I decided to give to see how it went putting the three of them together. I've never looked back. Joe has never really gained his weight back, but that is because he now dashes around playing with his two young friends.

I would definitely try and bond Bob and Heath. I think it could be just what he needs.

I hope you are soon feeling so much happier little Bob! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

thanks FF. well i have had them out for a little while together last night, but I'm going to take it slow with them. bobs become more unpredictable than i expected recently so I'm being extra careful. going to put them in a run together tomorrow evening and see how it goes

I'm trying to bond heath and bob at the min. theyve been in a neutral area together for about 45 mins now

theres so much humping! xx0 it stinks of man scent

no sign of it calming down yet, but I'm persevereing

well at least it has perked bob up ;D ;D ;D as i have only had girls have no idea what the man scent smells like but from what i have read i am kucky! sending hugs to bob and to heath and hoping they calm down soon. :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

well, ive completely disinfected the c+c and rearranged it all, and now both bob and heath are in there.

at the min theyre not doing too badly. could be better, but considering how bobs been lately its a slight improvement.

he is still chasing and humping heath now and again but otherwise they seem to be getting along at least well enough to live together, but i am watching them constantly

as i dont sleep much and spend most nights awake, ill be monitoring them for most of tonight, and if I'm not confident by the time i go to bed, i have some spare grids, and will partition the cage in half with one in each side

awwwwww come on Bob and Heath we really hope you become best buddies :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

i suppose this means you want me to chat to you half the night to keep you up then Lez ;) :smitten:
