I'm not sure if I'm over reacting after what happened with Connie, but I have noticed that Eliza has had a couple of funny coloured wee's today whilst out in the run :( It doesn't look red / pink but does look very orange. When I went through all this with Connie, the vet said that the specialist said that this colour urine can be normal in guinea pigs. They have had some carrot and tomato this week and it is very warm today. She is acting normally and there is no squeaking or anything. I'm just so worried now as this is how it all started with Connie and as selfish as it sounds I don't think I could go through that again. OH thinks I'm just over reacting :(

I can understand your worry after dear Connie bless her xxxxxx
Can you get a urine sample off her in the morning and pop it to your vets to check it with urine analyisis sticks?
I put my piggies in an empty carrier and feed them cucumber until they wee then pick them up out the carrier and syringe the wee up in a syringe and put the wee in a clean container.
I think Bright Eyes urine sample test only cost a few pounds at the vets :) and if it puts your mind at rest it would be worth it :) I'm hoping it is just the veggies effecting her wee xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I feel for you after following your thread about Connie, it was so heartbreaking for you :(
Our piggies are so precious xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Don't worry yourself too much Claire, honestly you are doing the right thing by asking! You will worry yourself into the ground if you don't ask and get others opinions - that is one reason the forum exists, and after what you went through with Connie I doubt anyone will be at all surprised that you are so concerned.

I would suspect the diet has more to do with the orangey pee than anything else - carrot has a tendency to do that. As long as the pee feels ok when it has dried and it's not got obvious blood in the urine, then it generally is okay - as a rough guideline.

I wouldn't worry that much.It is probaly just the veggies.Just keep an eye on her.

Ask your vet for urine strips next time you go there - it might help to put your mind to peace. My vet tells that in most cases, you can't see the blood in the urine.

I know from my own expereince how hard it is to come across similar symptoms when you have lost a piggie to an illness!
