I noticed today whilst trying to clip my pig’s nails that there was something on his foot. I thought it was a bit of poo but when I tried to remove it, sprout struggled and wheeked like he was in pain 😢. Picture attached, any advice would be great thanks!

It may be a foot spur. As long as it’s not catching on things or ripping at the skin then you can leave it. It’s not recommended to try cutting them off at home - you could cause serious damage by cutting too close.

PS be careful about the nails. They look like they’re curling round a bit.

Thanks so much that was really helpful. I didn’t know foot spurs existed. I’ve just read up on them and it sounds like that’s what it must be. I’ll keep an eye on it
