Inara is about 3 and is always a very lively and vocal piggy, today however, she seems to have spent today being very quiet and being very still :(

She's one of the one's I suspect to be pregnant but I don't think she's in labour

She's been eating - but I haven't seen her drink today and she normally drinks a fair amount.

I'm booking her into the vet if she doesn't perk up tomorrow as I'm not sure if she's just having an off day

this is a really unhelpful thread into helping people give ideas of what may be wrong but I'm just really worried :(

She may just be having a quiet day. Have a look at PG's site with regards to toxaemia as that's something to be aware of, but I'm sure it's nothing and she'll be fine :)

thank you both for alerting me to the signs of toxaemia - I'm scared to hell but I'm grateful I've been able to read an learn about it.

Inara's just gone for a drink, which I'm happy about and I'll book her in tomorrow - will the vet be able to tell if she has toxaemia with a blood test or something?

Is she pregnant or not? If she is, and is close to giving birth, you will feel movements in her abdomen.
If you only suspect pregnancy then she is either not pregnant or so early in the pregnancy that there are no signs at all.

Don't worry, keep her calm and relaxed and give her some banana or other high-sugar food once every few days. Have you felt any movement at all? She could just be pregnant with one baby which would mean movements/appearance might not alert you to the pregnancy. I wouldn't take her to the vet yet, the journey will be too stressful. But if it would put your mind at ease and you're truly worried, take her along. :)

I do believe she is pregnant, but if she is only with one or two small ones

I thought her son was a girl so that's who the father is and he was only just 3 months last week

I'll get some bananas for her tomorrow :)

Is Inara better today? I noticed with my sow that she had days when she was a bit off and very tired.

She seems to be brighter to me :) she's drinking and eating and moving around more so I think it was just "one of those days" :))

I'm glad that Inara is better and back on track!

I am sorry I missed this Kira, what a terrible worry for you! I suppose you can look on it as the tiredness some humans suffer when pregnant; some days are just too exhausting to do much! It is hard when the pig can't just tell you that though...

Big *hugs* x

I won't say it........

That was an accidental thanks, put the laptop on the floor and the dog walked on it >.< - I don't get it either lol

Maybe AP thinks you don't have to be pregnant to be exhausted (or a lazy slobby person like me today!) lol We can be a pretty lazy bunch on here. I'm thinking of getting a pressure cushion for my backside! ha ha . xx
