Well Momo passed away in September and since then McMac has been alone. I have tried my best to make sure he doesn't get lonely but I am starting to worry he is...

My mum has said it is best not to get another. Since I don't have a job I can't afford any more vet bills, food, etc and since I am hoping to move out in September it will be highly unlikely I will find many places with 4 animals...5 if you count a snail...

Just feeling a bit down since I don't even know if I can afford to go to college/uni in Bristol anymore :( and McMac just seems very lonely

I am very sorry for your dilemma!

Would it be a possibility to see whether a forum member could foster him for you for the time being?

I am ok with paying for him and my 2 bunnies and stuff. Just when mum said how she had to pay for Momo's unexpected vet bill I sort of thought maybe looking for another one wasn't best. At least until I got a job or something...I currently get paid for being a carer for my mum, most of which goes to the bunnies.

Oh! I have just had a thought...Apparently when I turn 19 my dad stops paying support to my mum. Which means I can go on income support, because I am a carer and stuff
The only reason I haven't gone on it yet is because I had to make sure my dad thought I was still in college so he had to pay for me.

Perhaps it would be good to enquire and then make your plans accordingly.

Yeah I have read up on income support/allowance before and since I am a carer (have to care for my mum for so many hours) it means I can only have a certain amount of hours to work each week if I did get a job. Income support helps give me a bit extra to live off since it is hard for me to find a job whilst being a carer :)

I will have a look on the website. Feeling much better now about saving up and affording things

I hope that you can work things out for you and your pets!

I hope you manage to sort everything out.

Are you buying all your animal feed/shavings in bulk? it might be cheaper for you overall to do it that way, even for a small number of animals. Just message me if you'd like any advice for local feed merchants...I'm not far from you. :)

I think I should be ok, staying positive is useful :)
After this clean out I am hoping to move McMac onto fleece. 1 I am sick of shaving everywhere and getting it in my eyes and 2 It would hopefully mean saving money.
My rabbits stay on just hay and newspaper and they love to eat the cheap hay luckily, as does McMac.
I usually buy burgess food every few weeks/once a month. Since I only need to feed the rabbits each an egg cup a day theirs lasts for a while

Some Colleges and unis have special bursarries for people who are carers for a relative - check it out. xx
